When It Rains, It Pours
I don’t know if it is just me, but it seems that I have been having a terrible week. I do realize that being a business owner can certainly result in a number of stressful moments, but this week just about made me break. It seems that everything that could have gone wrong did, and I have just about had enough. It reminds me of the old saying: “When it rains, it pours.”
Let me put this week into perspective for you. The week actually started out on a good note and Monday was great. In fact, we had the highest sales volume that we have had in months and I thought things would turn our perfect this week. I guess I can also attribute my feelings for the week to the great weekend I spent with my family at the cabin, but that would be the topic of another post.
But things changed for the worse on Tuesday. I went into the shop early that day to do some paperwork and noticed that the furnace didn’t seem to be working. After looking into it a little bit, I realized that I needed to call a company that offered heating system repair San Diego because it was beyond my means. They were there for most of the day Tuesday, but they were able to fix my problem, so I was happy.
The real deal breaker for the week that pushed me over the edge was the old lady that drove through our shop window on Wednesday. I guess the brakes failed on her car and this eighty-six year old woman drove her old car through the store window. Thankfully no one was hurt, but as a result of the incident, turned my week into a big disaster. I am still working on getting everything fixed, talking to the insurance company and trying to get things in order so we can open up again next week. Sometimes I wish that I was just an employee – it would save me from all these headaches.
