It has become common knowledge in recent years that traveling alone is not safe. But there are a few simple things you can remember to make it a little bit safer and ensure a good trip. Following a few simple common sense reminders can go a long way to keeping you safe.

Always lock your doors. You never know when you may have to stop and someone could surprise you anywhere. Also try to stay away from dark areas such as parking lots and deserted roads. These are some of the most dangerous places to be should you happen to break down especially at night. In the even that you simply must travel through dark areas at night always have a fully charged cell phone with you so that you can call for help in the event of an emergency. Don’t get out of your car if at all possible.

It is always best not to travel alone if at all possible. Try to find someone that can go with you but make sure that it is someone you trust. If you cannot find someone to travel with you remember the basic things you were most likely taught as a child like don’t talk to or get into cars with strangers.
